Gather

Matthew 4:19

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”

Gather happens when we invite students to get to know us. Many students on campus have questions about religions, God, suffering, existence, after life, good and evil. We are called to draw these students into our spiritual community and provide them with a safe place to ask questions, seek truths, and explore biblical answers. Many students on campus also long for relationship and friendship.  We are called to gather in these students and provide a trusting community that support, encourage, assist, love, and understand them. In gathering, we aim to manifest God’s grace to the campus community.

Gospel

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Gospel happens when we share the gospel message. As students became more interested in the Christian faith and have a desire to seek Jesus for the answers, we’ll tell the story of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. We will explain how Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and freed us from sin slavery. We’ll unfold Jesus’ gift of righteousness and the power we can receive to live a new life. We will bring out how Jesus will restore, redeem, and bring healing to the campus and to the world.

Grow

Hebrews 5: 12-14

"In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil."

Growth happens when we provide Christ centered and gospel focused foundation. When students embrace the gospel message and accept Jesus as their Savior, we will celebrate their decision to join God’s forever family, and commit ourselves to nurture them in their new life. In this stage, we will disciple the new believers, coach them to develop spiritual formation, help them deal with past baggage, hold them accountable to community living, give them theological training, and teach them to share their faith story with others. We will assure them that the Holy Spirit will grow them in the Truth and they will experience transformation.

Gifts

Colossians  1:9-10

"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God"

Gift happens when we help student recognize their gifts. Through training, mentoring, and discipleship, our students will be prepared to serve their peers, their churches and wherever God positions them. We will equip students to serve by applying the 3D Model – define, discover and develop their God given spiritual gifts. We’ll encourage and provide opportunity for students to serve as helpers or leaders in the specific area that God has gifted them with the understanding we are not just focusing on developing a set of skills or gifts, but we are helping students to become the servants God calls them to be.

Go

Matthew 28:19

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

Go happens when we sent out discipled students to disciple others. Another way students grow in their relationship with Christ is by telling others about Jesus. To help students engage in conversations, answer difficult questions, and address complex issues from a Christian vantage point or a Christian worldview, we will sharpen their apologetic knowledge, provide evangelism tools, and give them practicums. Most importantly, we will remind them to simply share with others their personal Jesus story, their testimony of faith.
